AHMEDABAD: India produced a solid display to clinch the Border-Gavaskar trophy against Australia in the fourth and final test. The match ended in a draw which made the tally 2-1 after India previously won the first two tests while Australia showed a resurgence in the third one with a brilliant spell from Nathan Lyon.
In the second innings of the final test, Australia reached the scoreline of 175 for two wickets lost. After much deliberation, both teams reached a unanimous decision to end the match on level terms. Meanwhile, drama unfurled as New Zealand captain Kane Williamson made a brave run to edge past Sri Lanka in the final over thus gifting India a place in the world test championship. From June 7 to 13th, the world test championship will take place in Ovals, England. India faces Australia to be the undisputed one in the test format.
