61-year-old man severely injured in bear attack in Wayanad

WAYANAD: A 61-year-old man was seriously injured in a bear attack at a wildlife sanctuary in Mananthavadi. Rajan, of Kattunayka Colony in Pokalamalam in Chethalayam, who went to collect honey in the forest was injured in the attack which happened around 11 am on Wednesday.

The bear pounced on Rajan who came to the forest with his wife Bindu. The bear scratched and bit Rajan on his body and neck. He was later rushed to taluk hospital.
