MUNNAR: Arikomban, the rogue elephant continues its terror run across Idukki defying all traps set up by the forest department. The elephant yesterday attacked a jeep near Poopara. The four travelers inside the jeep ran away at the sight of a charging elephant. The elephant attacked the jeep and placed it in the middle of the road denying other vehicles a pass.

After the incident, Arikomban trudged toward the Anayirankal dam. The authorities will restrict the elephant from going back to the Periya canal area by bringing in four Kumki elephants. Meanwhile, protest emanated yesterday after the High court put on stay the decision to capture the elephant till the 29th of this month.
