THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Special train service to Kerala during the Ramzan and the easter season got shunned in numbers giving leeway to bus and air-transport to charge inhuman prices to mint money from passengers. The only special train service during the Vishu season is from Chennai to Kerala. People from other cities such as Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Banglore are in a fix over the unavailability of special trains to Kerala.
Minding the lucrative business, the private bus services running between Bangalore to Kerala hiked fares to a cruel 90% high. For yesterday, the airconditioned bus travel from Banglore to Kerala was at Rs 5000.
With Vishu season also approaching, the rates are said to go high. Meanwhile, KSRTC maintains fair charge rates and has increased services to Banglore and Chennai. All the usual trains servicing Banglore from Kochuveli and Trivandrum are choc full of passengers. The railway meanwhile is eyeing the dynamic pressing program to bring more profits.
