Don't be disappointed at speed of Vande Bharat, will leap at speed of 130 kmph in months, more faster trains to Kerala 

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala got the first Vande Bharat Express after a long wait. Though this brought happiness to the Malayalees, the truth is that this semi high speed is not able to pace on the railway tracks and this has disappointed them. However, the new reports that came in said that this disappointment is just out of place.

The railway sources said that initially, the speed of Vande Bharat will be 110 km per hour, but will soon rise to 130 km per hour. The work of strengthening the rail track and changing the curve is progressing at lightning speed. There is no need to acquire even an inch of land for this. Along with this, the survey of the third lane on the Ernakulam-Shornur route has also started. Initially, the speed on this track will be above 110 kmph. Along with straightening the slopes and curves, the metal lying next to the rail will also be fixed and the height will be increased.

Although the tracks are currently being strengthened for Vande Bharat, the speed of long-distance trains operating in Kerala will also increase with this. This will lead to reduce the travel time. Along with this, it will lead to extension of more high-speed trains to Kerala. The decision is likely to be taken soon. The current speed in the Thiruvananthapuram–Kayamkulam section is 100 kmph. The speed is 90 km in the Kayamkulam-Ernakulam section and 80 km in the Ernakulam-Shornur section.

The future of K-Rail will be closed forever as the trains get faster. The biggest drawback of K-rail is the huge cost of money and the need to acquire land. The project has not yet received Centre's approval.
