Modi to flag off Vande Bharat in capital city today, security beefed up, traffic curbs in city

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two-day visit to Kerala, will arrive in the capital city today. The Prime Minister will flag-off Vande Bharat train at 10.30 am. He will also dedicate and lay the foundation stone of developmental projects worth Rs 3200 crore. Modi will reach the capital city at 10.15 am from Kochi. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will receive him at the airport.

Vande Bharat train will be flagged off at the Central Railway Station at 10.30 am. The Prime Minister will stay there till 10.50 am and interact with the students in a coach set up in the train. He will reach Central Stadium at 11 am. The Kochi Water Metro and the fully electrified Dindigul-Palani-Palakkad section railway section will be dedicated to the nation. A tight security has been beefed up as the Prime Minister is arriving in the capital city. Traffic restrictions will be in place in the city in view of his visit.

The foundation stone for the Digital University's Digital Science Park, development of Thiruvananthapuram rail sector centered around Kochuveli, Thiruvananthapuram and Nemom railway stations, project to upgrade Thiruvananthapuram Central, Varkala Sivagiri and Kozhikode railway stations to international standards, and the project to increase the speed of trains in Thiruvananthapuram-Shornur section to 110 kmph will be laid. The Prime Minister will leave for Dadranagar Haveli, Union Territory at 12.40 pm.
