Tanker lorry carrying raw alcohol hits two bikes; two dead, several persons injured

PUNE: In a horrific accident, two people were killed after a tanker lorry hit a couple of motorbikes before rolling down a gorge. The incident took place in Maharashtra's Pune on Monday night. The tanker lorry was carrying raw alcohol when it met with the accident.

According to the police, the brake failure of the lorry might have caused the accident. The lorry was travelling to Hadapsar industrial area in Pune.

"The tanker lorry carrying raw alcohol was travelling to Hadsapar industrial area when it suffered a brake failure at around 8.30 pm. The tanker lorry then hit two motorbikes before rolling down a gorge. Two people were killed and several others were injured in the accident," the police said.

Two persons died on the spot. The lorry driver, who was seriously injured, is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
