Not drugs, real villains media: Nikhila Vimal on drug issue

Drug usage in the Malayalam film industry is all news since the day when producer M Renjith decided to expose the actors indulging in the act. Now, actress Nikhila Vimal has got a thing or two to say about drug usage in the movie world. She recently courted controversy over the remarks in Muslim wedding homes restricting women folk to the inside of homes.

“Alcohol and drugs are seriously an issue. But it is someone's choice whether to use it or not. Alcohol is not banned in the state. If drug usages in film set is troubling technicians, then actions should be taken. If FEFKA and other reputed organizations decide to act on the issue, then they should move ahead. No such issues of drug usage happened in any of the films that I acted” Nikhila said.

‘ Earlier, I made some comments about Muslim homes in Kannur. But the media wilfully played their usual tricks and broke the statements into pieces concocting a new story. It was unwarranted.”

She asked the media to work carefully and reminded them about their huge role in ensuring an ideal state with no hate and violence.
