KOCHI: Famous reels actor and another film editor attacked North Kochi S.H.O and team after a brawl during a vehicle check at Kochi. Thrissur native Sanup(28) and Palakkad Vaniyamkulam native Rahul Raj (30) were arrested.

The incident happened near Kaloor Deshabhimani Road at 2:15 am in the morning. Meanwhile, one witness opened up to the media and said it was the police who manhandled and stomped the arrested ones, which put the officers in a fix. Even videos surfaced about police kicking Sanup while the latter was lying down.

Sanup won the internet's hearts after doing a drunken version of the song Rasputin. Fame covered him which later opened doors to movies. Currently, he was on his way to Fort Kochi to join the film sets of Dulquer Salman's “ King of Kotha”.

The gang was smoking near Kaloor Road late into the night. The police reached the spot and asked for paper works of the bike which was parked irregularly. Sanup told the police officers to take the details from the website with the vehicle registration number. Irked by the response, the police asked them to reach the station and submit the paperwork. Sanup told about his shooting works and denied the order. A brawl took place and the SI was attacked by the gang of eight. The SHO who came to the rescue was also beaten badly by the gang.

Meanwhile, witnesses near the road admitted to seeing the police slapping the youths while also smashing their cell phones to the ground.
