Police release picture of man masturbating in Delhi Metro, seeks public help to identify person

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has released the picture of the man who was seen publicly masturbating in the Delhi Metro. The police also sought public help to identify the person and added that the details of the informer will be kept confidential. The incident related to the case took place last month.

"This man was performing obscene act in Delhi metro and he is now wanted in FIR NO.02/23 PS IGIA metro. Please inform SHO IGIA metro on 8750871326 or 1511 (control room) or 112 (police helpline). Identity of the informer will be kept confidential. Help Delhi Police. Thank You.", Delhi Police tweet reads.

Pictures of a young man travelling in the metro and masturbating while watching a video on his phone circulated on social media. In the video, people can be seen getting uncomfortable and moving away.

After the footage went viral on social media, the Delhi Commission for Women sought an explanation from the police. The Women's Commission also demanded exemplary punishment for the accused. Then the police registered a case under IPC section 294.
