THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Central Meteorological Department said rains are likely to lash the state for the next five days. There is a possibility of thunderstorms and rain with gusty winds at isolated places. Kerala will receive rain as the monsoon is likely to reach the Nicobar Islands, South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours.
Meantime, warning that the temperature will rise by two to four degrees Celsius for two more days in the state. Based on this, yellow alert has been declared in nine districts today and tomorrow. The alert has been issued in Kollam, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Kozhikode, Palakkad, Kannur, Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram. The highest temperature is from 11 am to 3 pm. It is also suggested not to be exposed to direct sunlight at this time.
