Govt employee daughter, mother arrested for wild elephant's death in Punalur

PATHANAPURAM: A government employee and her mother were arrested for the death of a wild tusker that got electrocuted near a private rubber estate in Kadassery. Komallur Veterinary Dispensary livestock inspector Smitha( 39) and her mother Susheela(63) were arrested.

Punnala model forest station registered the case. Smitha and her mother took away all the wires and cables that killed the wild tusker that entered the human habitat. All such covered equipment was found in their home. The two were brought to Punalur forest court and were later remanded.
