THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Vigilance was alerted about hooch being served in outlets near coastal regions in Kerala. To counter the move, BEVCO has decided to start sudden inspections into warehouses and outlets to check the presence of hooch. Most of the happenings were reported in Kasargod and Thiruvananthapuram.
There are almost 50 and more outlets working near coastal areas in the state. The customer base in these regions are huge and many yearn for discounts on drink. The vigilance doubts such demands may comply officials to extract spirit from outside the state and fill the same in bottles labeled with foreign brands. Distillery-made foreign brands are also being used for selling through outlets in Kerala.
