Seven districts likely to receive rain in coming hours; rain will continue for five days

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that seven districts in Kerala are likely to receive rain in the coming hours. According to IMD, isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts are likely to experience moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds with a speed of up to 40 kmph.

IMD said that there Kerala will continue to receive rain for the next five days. A yellow alert has been sounded in Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam and Alappuzha districts. Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Ernakulam will be on yellow alert tomorrow as well. In addition to hilly areas, coastal areas and midland areas will also receive rain during these days.

Heavy rain can be expected in some regions. Due to the possibility of bad weather, fishermen have been warned not to go to sea in Kerala and Lakshadweep coast till Sunday.
