Malayali doctor and sister drowned in lake in Mumbai: Bodies brought home and cremated

HARIPAD: The bodies of a young Malayali doctor and his sister, who drowned in a lake in Mumbai, were brought home and cremated on Monday. Haripad native Dr Ranjith (21) and his sister Keerthi (17) drowned in an accident on Sunday. Their bodies were brought to Thamallackal in Alappuzha and cremated. The deceased Ranjith and Keerthi are the children of Ravindran and Deepa.

The tragedy happened when Keerthi was bathing the pet dog in a lake at Dawdi in Dombivli East. Keerthi drowned while trying to catch the dog. Eyewitnesses said Ranjith drowned while trying to save his sister. Ranjith was a house surgeon at Seawoods Hospital in Navi Mumbai. Keerthy had completed her Plus Two.
