Four kinds of rockets, ISRO can launch any satellite

isro

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: ISRO has come up with four rockets of different capabilities to launch satellites of any kind. Four rockets were used for four launches in four months this year. All of them were successful. These excellent rockets will give ISRO great brand value in commercial launches. The successful launches have demonstrated ISRO's team excellence in handling complex situations along with technical excellence.

India regularly uses two kinds of rockets- PSLV for satellites up to 2000 kg and GSLV for up to 4000 kg. It also uses SSLV for launching small satellites and LVM3 for giant launches.

This diversity of ISRO comes when other space agencies of the world use the same type of rocket. While the USA uses Falcon, China uses Long March. Ariane is used by the European Union, while Soyuz is used by Russia.

Launched SSLV on February 10
The Earth observation satellite EOS 07 was launched aboard the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV).

LVM3 on March 26
36 satellites of British internet company 'OneWeb' were launched. India's most powerful satellite launch vehicle. It is a modified version of the earlier GSLV Mark III rocket.

PSLV on April 22
Two of Singapore's satellites were launched. India's most reliable rocket to launch satellites up to 2000 kg.

GSLV Mark II on May 29
India's second-generation navigational satellite NVS 01 was launched. This rocket can launch satellites up to 3,000 kg.
