MUMBAI: Manoj Sane (56), who murdered his live-in partner, told police five things. He told them that Saraswati Vaidya (32), whom he murdered was like a daughter to him. However, the police have not believed this.

Manoj, who committed the shocking crime, revealed that he is HIV positive and is under treatment since 2008. He revealed that he had not killed her and that she committed suicide by consuming poison. When he returned home on June 3, he found Saraswati lying on the ground. Manoj said in order to avoid rest, he chopped the body into pieces. However, the police clarified that this is an attempt to mislead the investigation.

Manoj said that he cut the body with wood cutters to separate the bone and flesh. Then boiled it in a pressure cooker. Manoj said Saraswati always thought that he was cheating and even when he came home late after work, she used to fight with him. He told police that Saraswati was like his daughter and that she was preparing for the 10th class qualifying SSC exam and was teaching her Maths.

There were three buckets full of her body parts. Blood had splashed on the floor, walls and bathroom. An electric wood cutter, a sharp knife, a mixer and a pressure cooker were found in the room. A foul smell emanated from the flat. He had sprayed air freshener to reduce the stench. One of Manoj's neighbors came to his flat following a foul smell from there. Manoj did not open the room despite ringing the calling bell. Meanwhile, the neighbor said, the air freshener was being sprayed throughout the room. He said Manoj opened the door in a very exhausted state. The police are waiting for the forensic report of the victim. Manoj hasn't still revealed the real reason behind the killing.
