Locopilot turns saviour, foils man's suicide bid

EZHUKONE: A loco pilot turned saviour as he stopped the train and saved the man who tried to commit suicide by lying on the railway tracks. The said man is a native of Chempanaruvi in Achankovil.

The incident took place near Ezhukone railway station at around 6 pm on Saturday. The 39-year-old man's suicide attempt took place in front of MEMU to Punalur after leaving his wife's house over a squabble.

Loco pilot Sreeshkumar found the young man lying on the track and stopped the train immediately. The information was passed on to the railway station. The man saw the loco pilot and the passengers walking towards him but could not run away as he was drunk. His wife's house is in Puttur.
