NEW DELHI: Ration card and Aadhaar card are two of the most important documents for Indian citizens. The central government had earlier proposed to link these two. Now the deadline for linking Ration Card and Aadhaar Card has been extended to September 30.
This step is to prevent one person from having multiple ration cards, to get eligible rations accordingly and eliminate fake cards. Ration card and Aadhaar card can be linked online.
How to link online
1. Visit the official website of the State Public Distribution System.
2. Enter the details including Aadhaar Card Number, ration card number and your registered mobile in it.
3. Click 'continue' on it.
4. Then OTP will be received on the registered mobile number.
5. Link your ration card and Aadhaar by entering the OTP.
6. You will get a message once the linking process is complete.
