Engineering admission at self-financing colleges without entrance procedures

engineering-

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has ordered admission to the 130 engineering colleges of the state in the government-controlled and private self-financing sector in the seats that become vacant after the allotment of the entrance commissioner. 45 percent marks are enough for Plus Two.

This relaxation is in consideration of the need of self-supporting managements as they do not have children to study. Accordingly, the Entrance Commissioner will amend the prospectus. For the last four decades, entrances were allowed for rank holders so as to increase the standard of studies. Those who did not qualify for entrance except NRI quota were not able to get admission till now.

The rank list for engineering admission is prepared after equally considering plus two marks and entrance exam scores. If you get at least 10 marks in each of the two papers of 480 marks each, you will be included in the rank list. Those who don't get even this and those who haven't written the entrance exam will now get admission. The list of these students should be approved by the Technological University.

AICTE criteria for admission is 45% marks in Physics and Mathematics in Plus Two. In a technological university, 45% marks each is necessary for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics require and 50% marks combined in all three. In the government order, the eligibility of plus two marks has also been relaxed as admission has been allowed as per AICTE criteria.
