MUMBAI: Aaditya Thackeray of the Uddhav Thackeray faction said that the BJP-Shiv Sena government led by Eknath Shinde is likely to undergo significant changes soon. Aaditya Thackeray, who was a minister in the undivided Shiv Sena government, told the media that Shinde would have to step down as Chief Minister with the entry of Ajit Pawar into the government. He also said that the BJP asked Shinde to step down as Chief Minister after Ajit Pawar and other NCP MLAs joined the Maharashtra government.
Ajit Pawar, who split the NCP and became part of the BJP-Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) government, is currently holding the post of Deputy Chief Minister. Along with Ajit Pawar, eight NCP MLAs became part of the government. There were rumours that Shinde's tenure as chief minister would not last long after the cabinet expansion. It is reported that the act of inviting the NCP to join the ruling front has caused anger in the Shinde camp. senior leader of the Uddhav Thackeray faction, had earlier said that around 20 MLAs from the Shinde faction came in touch with the Uddhav Thackeray faction following the alliance with Ajit Pawar.
