THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The crime branch is planning to target congress MLAs in the infamous assembly ruckus case of 2015. The crime branch is setting up moves to trap more congress MLAs, as the investigation team claims to have footage of leaders engaging in the brawl.

The ruckus happened on March 13, 2015, when late MLA K M Mani walked inside the assembly prepared for the budget presentation. However, the accusation of the Bar bribery case was a burning topic then and a protest against the leader morphed into physical might inside the assembly. Meanwhile, then LDF MLAs E S Bijimol and Geethagopi complained about suffering injuries from congress leaders. Their injury details were attached along with the chargesheet but the MLAs complained about not including them as witnesses in this case.

The watch and ward who served the speaker during the incident will be asked to give his statement again to the investigation team. Minister V Sivankutty, MLA K T Jaleel, and CPM leader E P Jayarajan are the prominent names included in the accused list.

Kerala government recently reached SC saying the investigation team failed to take statements from all the security guards present inside the assembly and hence beseeched the court to quash the case highlighting the near to impossible chances for the prosecution to prove the case. However, in a turn of events, the supreme court asked all the accused to be part of the court hearing.
