Unni in Ponnani, Muhammad in Wayanad; fraudster 'Kalyanaraman' Unni arrested for duping four women into marriage

PONNANI: The Ponnani police have arrested a man who duped several women into marriage. The arrested person is Alappuzha Komalloor native Unnikrishnan aka 'Kalyanaraman Unni' (60). Unnikrishnan was arrested from Pulppally in Wayanad. According to the police, Unnikrishnan had abandoned his family after marrying two women in Ponnani.

Police arrested Unni while he was residing in Wayanad under the guise of Muhammad after marrying a Muslim woman. He was arrested by the investigation team consisting of Ponnani Inspector Vinod Valiyatoor, SI Naveen Shaj, ASI Praveen Kumar, Senior CPO Priya, and CPO Nasar on Tuesday night. The accused had married another woman in Alappuzha and later abandoned her. He has seven children from four marriages. The police are investigating whether the accused had cheated other women in more places. The accused, who was produced in Ponnani court, has been remanded.
