Tried to incite communal tension; Complaint filed against Revath Babu who performed last rites of girl killed in Aluva

KOCHI: A complaint has been lodged against Revath Babu, a native of Chalakudy, on the remark that the priests were not ready to perform the last rites of the girl who was killed in Aluva. Advocate Jias Jamal, a resident of Aluva, complained to the Rural SP. According to the complaint, Revath Babu made a false allegation to gain media attention. It is also mentioned in the complaint that he tried to create religious rivalry and riot through the statement.

Revath later said that his allegation was false. He had said through his Facebook page that he had made a mistake. He also apologized for insulting the priests. Revath Babu made controversial remarks to the media after performing the last rites of the child who was murdered in Aluva the other day. He said that the priests of Aluva refused to perform the rituals because she was a child of North Indians. This was widely circulated on social media yesterday. Following this Revath came forward pointing out that what he had said was misinterpreted.
