NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has informed the Supreme Court that M Sivasankar, former principal secretary of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, has no serious health issues and that he should not be granted bail. The ED filed the affidavit while a bench comprising Justices M M Sundresh and J B Pardiwala was considering Sivasankar's bail plea in the Life Mission case.
The ED mentioned in the affidavit that Sivasankar is a highly influential person and granting bail would affect the investigation. The court directed ED to inform their stand on Sivasankar’s request seeking treatment in a private hospital.
Sivasankar’s lawyer informed the Supreme Court that government hospital did not have the necessary facilities for his treatment. Sivasankar in the plea demanded that he had severe physical discomfort and required surgery. ED arrested M Sivasankar on February 14 in the Life Mission case.
