G Sandeep dismissed from service; 'Accused blot to teaching community', says minister Sivankutty

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: G Sandeep, the accused in the murder of Dr Vandana Das was dismissed from service on Saturday. He was a UP school teacher at Nedumpana, Kollam. Based on the crucial report from the internal inquiry report, it was the education department that came up with the decision to dismiss Sandeep. The accused already had a track record of getting suspended from service before. In the words of education minister V Sivankutty, “Sandeep is a blot to the whole teaching community”

It was on May 10, at 4.35 in the morning that Dr. Vandana Das was brutally killed in the Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital after a police brought Sandeep in a fit of rage stabbed her multiple times in the head with a pair of scissors. After she collapsed on the ground, Sandeep couched on her body to stab on back of her neck exactly six times.
