NEW DELHI: The Lok Sabha has passed the Digital Protection Bill, which aims to secure personal information in the digital sphere. The bill was approved by voice vote amid objections from the opposition. The opposition amendments were rejected by voice vote.
The mediation bill aimed at settling commercial disputes through arbitration, the amended pharmacy bill for pharmacists in Jammu and Kashmir, the Anusandhan National Research Foundation bill to promote scientific research in higher education institutions, and a bill to give more powers to the Coastal Aquacultural Authority aimed at developing the fisheries sector were also passed yesterday.
