NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India will become a developed country and the third-largest economy in the world by 2047, the year of its 100th anniversary of independence. Welfare scheme for traditional working families and employment scheme to make women self-sufficient will be launched. Modi was addressing the nation after hoisting the national flag at the Red Fort on the 77th Independence Day.

He said that India was the 10th largest economy in the world when he took over as Prime Minister in 2014. Pointing out that the position has now reached five, the next target was specified. He also made a political statement that he will come to power for the third time by announcing that he will reach the Red Fort next year. It was his 10th Independence Day speech as Prime Minister.

Unlike usual, the speech began by addressing everyone as 'family members'. He wore the traditional turban of Rajasthan, where assembly elections are being held this year. The speech lasted for an hour and a half.

Today's work and hard work will lay the foundation for the golden history of the country for the next thousand years. He pointed out that he hopes to achieve that goal through the majority of the population who are under the age of thirty.

The Prime Minister claimed that peace has been restored in Manipur. There was news of insecurity and attacks on women, now there is news of peace. The peace process should be carried forward, he said.

Corruption is the problem

Corruption is the filth of public life and the root cause of all problems in the country. As favouritism undermined the implementation of government schemes, social justice also collapsed. Favouritism and corruption are the biggest enemies of development. Targeting the Congress and opposition parties, Modi said family rule in politics is only for certain families.

13,000 crore welfare scheme called Vishwakarma Yojana for those working in the traditional labour sector will be launched on Vishwakarma Jayanti. Families of weavers, goldsmiths, laundresses, barbers etc. from backward classes will benefit.

Drone women

'Drone ki Udaan' scheme will be implemented to provide training and loans to 15,000 women SHGs to operate and maintain drones. Two crore women millionaires will be created in villages along with women's self-help groups.

Jan Aushadhi
