Google pays homage to India's textile textile legacy on 77th Independence Day

NEW DELHI: Google celebrated the occasion of India's 77th Independence Day with a special doodle honouring the textile industry in the nation. The doodle was designed by Delhi-based artist Namrata Kumar, incorporating textiles from 21 states. Kerala's own Kasavu is also featured alongside Gujarat's Kutch embroidery, Odisha's Ikat, Jammu and Kashmir's pashmina kani. Namrata Kumar said the doodle was created to honour handloom weavers, stitchers, embroidery artists and textile painters across the country.
