NEW DELHI: Criticism has been raised against the invitation letter sent from Rashtrapati Bhavan in the name of 'President of Bharat' instead of 'President of India'.Criticism was raised against the invitation for the dinner which is part of the G20 summit.

A dinner for the participants of the G20 Summit will be held on September 9 and 10 at 8 p.m. at Bharat Mandapam in the International Exhibition and Convention Center at Pragati Maidan.

AICC General Secretary Jairam Ramesh came forward criticising the central government.'Now, Article 1 in the Constitution can read: “Bharat, that was India, shall be a Union of States.”But now even this “Union of States” is under assault, he tweeted.

BJP national president J P Nadda has come out against the criticism of Congress. He asked why those who are conducting a political pilgrimage in the name of Bharat Jodo Yatra are opposing the slogan of Bharat Mata ki jai. Congress does not respect the country or the constitution. He said that their aim is only to glorify a family.

Meanwhile, there were earlier rumours that the country's name would be officially changed from India to Bharat.
