THRISSUR: The city of Thrissur woke up on Saturday to learn about a massive gold heist that happened in the wee hours of Friday night.
The attack took place when the employees of DP Chains in Thrissur were going to the railway station to deliver gold to shops in the Kanyakumari-Marthandam area. Rinro and Prasad, employees of two shops operating in the same building, were going to the railway station with a bag having 3 kg of gold. While the two stepped out of the building, a Maruthi swift car screeched to a stop near them and attacked the two to take hold of the gold.
The police have registered a case and started an investigation. More information would be clear only after checking the CCTV footage.
