Body of youth who went missing in Vizhinjam washes ashore in Kanyakumari

VIZHINJAM: The body of a youngster, who went missing in Vizhinjam sea, was found washed ashore in Kanyakumari on Wednesday. Vizhinjam Coastal Police summoned the relatives of the youngster to identify the body. Ajeesh (26), son of Anil and Bina, of Pulinkudi, met with an accident at Avanangapara on the 14th of this month.

Even the Navy searched the waters after the accident but Ajeesh was untraceable. The body washed up on the shores of Kanyakumari on the 22nd. Following information from Kanyakumari Marine Police, Vizhinjam Coastal Police reached the spot. According to the report, Ajeesh’s brother identified the body. Colachel Marine Police took further steps and handed over the body to the relatives after post-mortem.

The family had earlier cried foul over the youth’s missing. However, the doctors declared the youth died of drowning. Ajeesh along with his partner and two children reached Vizhinjam on July 14th to see the first ship arrive at the dock. A Kanjiramkulam native had also accompanied the family on the day.
