Asif Ali's movie 'Kasargold' is getting ready for release. In an interview held as part of the promotion of the film, the actor has now shared his experience when he went to pawn gold for the first time.
The incident happened when Asif Ali was twenty-one or twenty-two years old. It was a time when he was dreaming of pursuing a career in acting. Photoshoots and modelling were his initial steps towards entering the film industry.
Asif Ali recalls that he had to pawn his hand ring for survival during that period. It was during this visit to the pawnshop that he noticed a familiar sight – his own photo, which had been taken as part of a previous photoshoot. His image was featured in an advertisement displayed behind the counter of the gold pawnshop.
The lady at the counter inquired if he had an ID card. A friend who had accompanied him asked her why it wasn't sufficient to verify his identity by looking at the advertisement featuring his photo. Asif Ali recounted this incident during the interview.
