THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Yellow alert has been announced in 11 districts of the state. Rain has been predicted in districts from Alappuzha to Kasargod. The Central Meteorological Centre also said that there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places.
The Meteorological Centre had informed yesterday that there is a chance of moderate rain in Kerala for the next five days. A strong low pressure over North Odisha is responsible for the rains in Kerala. This depression is likely to move over Chhattisgarh-East Madhya Pradesh region in the next two days. A cyclonic circulation is also prevailing over south-east Uttar Pradesh and north-east Madhya Pradesh. Its influence is also the cause of rain in Kerala.
