THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Revenue Minister K Rajan has announced that village offices in the state will be made free of overcrowding before the end of the government's tenure. He was speaking while inaugurating Pulimath, Kilimanoor, Karavaram, and Vellallur smart village offices in Chirayinkeezhu taluk completed under the Rebuild Kerala project.

"The Revenue Department is working hard to overcome the current crisis. It is getting applications in large numbers after the recent reform allowing barren land to be reclassified. 2,40,000 applications are currently pending. To solve this, it has been decided to task the Deputy Collectors as well to consider land reclassification applications. The pending applications will be completely resolved in eight months. 249 new posts have been created to increase the speed of the Revenue Department," the minister said.
