Tragic death for college student hit by bus in front of campus

PARAVUR: A female student met a tragic end when a private bus struck her in front of the college while she was about to head home on a bike with her classmate. Jismi (19), the daughter of the Joy-Shelmi couple from Irumpanathveedu, Aluva Kirimad. Jismi was riding her bike and tragically lost her life instantly. This unfortunate incident occurred in front of Malyankara SNM College at around 4 pm yesterday. Jismi was a second-year B.Com student at REC Centre, a sub-centre of Ayyambilly Rams College. Malyankara SNM College was the examination centre.

After the exam, when she was about to ride pillion on her classmate and relative Emmanuel's bike at the bus stop by the main gate of the college, the bus named Souparnika which was traveling from Kodungallur to Ernakulam lost control and collided. Emmanuel, who fell was taken to Moothakunnam Community Health Centre with injuries. The bus driver Ayush, a native of Cherayi Pallipuram was arrested by the police. Following transport to Andipillikavu Bharat Hospital, the body was transferred to Paravur Taluk Hospital Mortuary. The cremation will be conducted today following the post-mortem examination.
