Sexual assault case against YouTube vlogger Mallu Traveler; Intelligence Bureau initiates probe

KOCHI: The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has initiated a probe into the sexual assault case against renowned YouTube vlogger Shakir Subhan aka Mallu Traveler. The IB is conducting the probe into the complaint lodged by a woman hailing from Saudi Arabia.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that Shakir Subhan attempted to sexually assault her after calling her to a hotel room for an interview. The woman had lodged complaints with the Saudi consulate and embassy. The Ernakulam Central Police had earlier registered a case against Shakir Subhan based on the complaint of the woman. IB officials have collected information about police actions.

According to the complainant, the incident took place at a private hotel in Kochi on September 13. Meanwhile, Shakir Subhan has denied the allegations levelled against him.
