Congress member granted bail in case of insulting wives of CPM leaders on social media

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Youth Congress member granted bail in a case involving the abuse of wives of CPM leaders through social media. Ebin Kodankara (27), a native of Neyyatinkara Chengal was released on bail by the Thiruvananthapuram ACJM Court. Ebin is the President of the Congress Kodankara ward. He was apprehended by the cyber police based on a complaint filed by A A Rahim MP's wife Amrita Rahim and the late CPM leader P Biju's wife Harsha.

Amrita Rahim filed a complaint alleging that the pictures she had posted on Facebook were manipulated and shared without her consent. The defamatory images were distributed using a fake ID under the name Kottayam Kunjachan. The cyber police investigation revealed that these images had been created by Ebin. Furthermore, the cyber police also identified posts targeting female CPM leaders originating from the same profile.
