NEW DELHI: A Malayali businessman was found dead in Delhi’s Dwaraka on Saturday. P P Sujathan is identified as the deceased. Sujathan, a native of Tiruvalla has been staying in Shivani enclave in Dwaraka Mor for years. The deceased was also the SNDP Dwaraka branch secretary.
According to relatives, Sujathan left home on Thursday citing business needs but was found hanging at a park near his residence on Friday. People mostly elders who reached the park for their routine morning walk were shell-shocked seeing the hanging body. According to police, there were many injuries found on Sujathan’s body. A detailed search will be done as there are also looming doubts about a possible murder angle.
Sujathan has been a resident of Delhi for the past 40 years. He used to run a hotel here but recently switched to the kitchen appliances business. Sujathan’s wallet and purse are still missing. His bag was found from some distance away from the park. According to police, his shirt was used as a noose and was lassoed over Sujathan’s neck.
The police have registered a case and started an investigation. The police are checking the CCTV footage of the spot. The body is currently kept at Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital and will be handed over to the relatives after a post-mortem on Saturday.
