KOTTAYAM: Due to the threat of flooding due to heavy rains, educational institutions up to higher secondary level and Anganwadis in Kottayam taluk have been declared a holiday tomorrow. The Kottayam Collector informed that schools running camps in Changanassery and Vaikku taluks will also have a holiday tomorrow.
Cyclonic vortices and twin depressions have changed the rain situation in Kerala. Kerala has received heavy rains in the last five days as a result of twin depressions formed in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. 162 mm of rain fell during these days. It rained almost four times where the usual 44 mm of rain should have been received.
