police

KOCHI: The High Court has said that strict action will be taken if the police delay in submitting reports on petitions related to criminal cases. Justice PV Kunjikrishnan pointed out that if the prosecutors seek a report from the police station as per the court directive, they often do not get it.

The DGP should instruct all stations to provide the report if requested by the prosecutors, the court said. The single bench directive was given by the accused in the case of attacking Anil Kumar, a resident of Vattakarikakam, Thiruvananthapuram, in connection with installing a Che Guevara's flux, to quash the case. As per the High Court directive, the prosecutor sought a report on the case registered by the Sreekaryam police, . The High Court also warned that if the report is not submitted by October 26, Srikariyam CI will have to appear in person.
