Israel's military operation in Gaza; Emergency Riyadh meeting on Nov 11

RIYADH: In the context of the Israel-Hamas conflict, an emergency meeting of Arab League countries is scheduled for November 11 in Riyadh as reported by Arab media. The Arab League has decided to convene this extraordinary meeting in response to Israel's military operations in Palestine. The General Secretariat of the Arab League has stated that this emergency meeting is in direct response to specific requests from Palestine and Saudi Arabia.

In a joint letter, both countries have requested to address the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people in Gaza. Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League has confirmed that the Palestine and Saudi Memorandum has been distributed to all Arab member states.

It's noteworthy that the Arab League countries are gathering just 20 days after the Arab Summit held in Cairo on October 22. During the Cairo Summit, the situation regarding the Israeli-Hamas conflict was extensively discussed. Participants included Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq and Cyprus. Representatives from the United Nations as well as Japan and Germany were also present. Additionally, Palestinian representatives from Turkey and Greece participated in the meeting. The upcoming meeting in Riyadh is expected to focus on peace efforts in the region.
