THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Awards 2023, the highest award given by the government to the talents who have made comprehensive contributions in various fields, has been announced. This year's Kerala Jyoti Award was given to T Padmanabhan for his comprehensive contribution to the field of literature.
Kerala Prabha was awarded to Justice (Retd.) M Fathima Bivi in the field of social service and civil service and Nataraja Krishnamurthy (Surya Krishnamurthy) in the field of arts
Kerala Sree was awarded to Punalur Somarajan in the field of social services, Dr VP Gangadharan in the field of health, Ravi DC in the field of industry and commerce, KM Chandrasekhar in the field of civil service and Pandit Ramesh Narayan in the field of art (music).
It has been decided to give the first highest state award 'Kerala Jyoti' to one person per year, the second highest state award 'Kerala Prabha' to two persons per year and the third highest state award 'Kerala Sree' to five persons per year, taking into consideration their comprehensive contributions in various fields.
The awardees were selected by an award committee consisting of renowned director Adoor Gopalakrishnan, K Jayakumar (IAS Retd.) and renowned writer Dr George Onakkoo.
