Actor Tovino Thomas has bagged a top honour at the Septimius Awards, an international film award. Tovino won the best Asian actor award for his role in the film '2018, Everyone is a Hero' directed by Jude Anthony Joseph. Tovino is the first South Indian actor to win the Septimius award. Another actor and YouTuber from India, Bhuvan Bam, was also nominated for best Asian actor along with Tovino. The actor shared his happiness on Instagram by dedicating the award to Kerala.
The Septimius Awards is an international film award held annually in Amsterdam, the capital of Netherlands. The award includes categories such as best actor, actress and film from each continent like Europe, America, Asia and Africa.
Film 2018 was nominated for best Asian film category. 2018 is the first Malayalam film to enter the 200-crore club. The film is based on the 2018 floods that rocked Kerala and had a huge cast including Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Lal, Naren, Aparna Balamurali, Vineeth Srinivasan and Aju Varghese.
