Only authorized people will be permitted for film promotion; film organizations with new decision

KOCHI: Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) has clarified that it does not agree with imposing a ban or time limit on movie reviews. However, in the name of reviews, body shaming, caste, racial, gender-based accusations and personal murder, defamation of the film and filmmakers by providing false information, etc., cannot be ignored, and FEFKA and the Producers Association have decided to form a joint committee to provide legal assistance to those affected in such cases.

The producers association also informed FEFKA that they will prepare a list of marketing agencies and online platforms with which the producers have to contract for the promotion of a film in addition to the PROs who are members of FEFKA. FEFKA and the member organizations accepted the proposal of the producers association that promotion activities should be done with those on the list. This was based on the discovery that large scale financial frauds are taking place in the online and digital marketing sector.

Decisions were taken in a discussion held by the FEFKA leadership and the representatives of member organizations such as FEFKA Directors Union, FEFLA Writers Union, FEFKA Production Executive Union and FEFKA PRO Union with the office bearers of the Kerala Film Producers Association on October 31 and November 1 regarding new era cinema marketing. The discussion was attended by digital marketing coordinators and representatives of online platforms who are not members of FEFKA.
