MALAPPURAM: Bypassing a ban from KPCC, a Palestine solidarity rally led by the Aryadan Foundation was held in Malappuram. Despite the heavy rain, hundreds of activists participated in the rally. The rally was organized under the leadership of KPCC General Secretary Aryadan Shoukath. He said that there is a misunderstanding about the rally. "What is anti-party in the foundation's program? Why they are spreading misinformation? This program is only for Palestine. The event is organized by Aryadan Foundation. I got the letter from KPCC. I will give reply to the letter today and bring clarification", Shoukath said.
In view of KPCC's warning, some leaders withdrew, but community leaders participated in the event. Mujahid leader Hussain Madavoor and Samastha representative Dr Muhammad Nadvi came to the event. Aryadan Shaukath made it clear in a press release issued yesterday that he is not withdrawing from the Palestine solidarity program.
Sectarianism had arisen in the party over the appointment of Congress constituency presidents in the district. Earlier, DCC also held a Palestine solidarity rally. A group leaders including Aryadan Shoukath and C Haridas were present in the event.
