Azmi leading an expat life for 25 years wins Rs 44 crore in UAE big ticket

ABU DHABI: Big ticket win for an expatriate. A Syrian expat has won the prize of 20 million dirhams (44,75,67,571) in the latest big ticket Abu Dhabi weekly draw. Syrian refugee Azmi Matanious Hourani won the prize for the raffle draw number 257. He used to regularly take the big ticket for the past 25 years.

Azmi told officials that he had tried his luck 100 times, but it happened only the other day. The officials of the big ticket called Azmi and informed his win. Azmi bought the big ticket from Abu Dhabi International Airport while traveling to Germany. Azmi has no clear plan on how to spend the prize money. Azmi said that he wants to invest a part of it.

Meantime, ten winners from countries like India and the Philippines received prizes in the draw held the other day. Each received gold worth Dhs 59,000 as a gift.

In the live draw held the other day, Azharuddin Mooper Ameed, an Indian expatriate in Saudi Arabia, got a new Maserati Ghibli car as a prize. Azharuddin has been living in Saudi Arabia for the last 12 years and works at Nessma Partners. Azharuddin has been trying his luck at the big ticket with his friends for the past two years.
