THIRUVANATHAPURAM: A departmental inquiry against the DySP who told his superior officer that he is not superhuman to be on duty for 48 hours continuously. The inquiry is against Thrissur C-Branch DySP Shaj Jose. It is alleged that despite being asked to do combing duty, he was not ready for it and gave a disrespectful reply to his superior.

On the night of August 11, Shaj Jose was given three areas to participate in combing. However, he did not participate in the combing or inform his superiors about it. When the district police chief inquired about this and called him on the phone, he replied that he is not superhuman to work for 48 hours continuously. When the show cause notice was issued, he explained that as he was 53 years old, he could not work continuously for 48 hours and he gave such a reply due to mental stress from lack of adequate rest.

However, the DIG informed the government that Shaj Jose did not say this to the SP who called him on the phone. The Home Department ordered an inquiry as it was found to be a breach of discipline and malfeasance in ignoring lawful orders from superiors.
