Govt hospital doctor leaves multiple surgeries midway for not getting tea

NAGPUR: In a shocking incident, a doctor at a government hospital in Nagpur left multiple vasectomy surgeries midway for not getting a cup of tea. The incident took place at a local health centre at Mauda tehsil in Nagpur on November 1. Eight women were scheduled for vasectomy on the day of the incident. After performing surgery on four women and administering anaesthesia to the remaining four patients, Dr Tejrang Bhalavi asked the hospital staff for a cup of tea, However, the staff did not serve him tea. Irked by this, the doctor stormed out of the operation theatre without completing the remaining surgeries. Following this, the hospital authorities informed the matter to the District Medical Officer. Soon, another doctor was sent to perform the surgey on the anaesthetized women. The district administration has ordered an inquiry into the incident. Nagpur Zilla Parishad CEO Soumya Sharma said that a three-member committee has been formed to investigate the case. She said that appropriate action will be taken against the doctor based on the report of the committee.
