Man, son, who went for morning stroll, found dead in Kottayam; bodies found in nearby building

KOTTAYAM: A 49-year-old man and his eight-year-old son were found dead at Meenadom Nedumpoika in Kottayam. Binu of Puduvayal Vattukalam and his son Sivahari were found hanging. The bodies of the two, who went out for a morning stroll, were found in a nearby building. The preliminary conclusion of the police is that the man may have committed suicide after killing his son.

The two left the house for the morning stroll at 7 am this morning. The two used to go for a walk regularly. The family started searching for the two after not seeing them even after a long time.

They were found hanging in a small building adjacent to an uninhabited house. Binu was an electric works worker. The cause of the death is not known. Inquest proceedings are progressing.

The police said Binu may have taken the extreme step after hanging Sivahari. Shivahari was a third-class student. They used to live at Alampally in Pampady earlier. After selling that house later, bought one in Meenadom Nedumpoika and relocated there.
